AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was integral in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years young, was the youngest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists during the same calendar year , making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
