Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. She began by releasing funny, well-written music that tackled questions of racial identity and sexuality. Later, she broadened her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. She also received classical and jazz training later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. While in school, she concentrated on journalism and woman's studies. She studied Mandarin briefly in Beijing. She turned her attention to music once she graduated. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. On the album, there was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$1. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide published in the year 2015, and was another initiative. Alongside having a book published, her other career was as a singer. Apart from the early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's Eight as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
